San Rafael’s aptly named West End neighborhood hovers along 4th Street just west of downtown. Acting as the gateway to the city’s West End Village shopping district, living in West End puts you close to plenty of community amenities and attractions, starting countless shops, restaurants, and cafes that line San Rafael’s famous “Miracle Mile.” Outside of 4th Street, the remainder of the West End neighborhood is almost entirely residential, with most homes in the area having originally been built back in the late 1960s and early 70s, while also offering some pretty amazing views of the scenic mountainous landscape that surrounds this particular part of Marin County. As one of San Rafael’s more established neighborhoods, it’s not terribly uncommon to find a few of West End’s smaller homes to be priced right around $1 million, although expect most to be listed somewhere between $2 and $3, especially as you get further up the hill where the views and outlooks only get better and better.
